THE VISIT ORNITHOLOGY

The Ampombofofo site is the habitat of 63 species of birds and some are classified as Least Concern in the IUCN Red List but others are classified as Endangered (Frontier Madagascar 2007). It is also reported that among these 63 species of birds, 32 species are endemic to Madagascar or endemic to the Indian Ocean (Frontier Madagascar 2007). Observation is easy, the trails are already accessible (rural trails). It can be done without binoculars and a large number of species can be observed up close.

A trip by sailing boat in the Bay of Diego-Suarez, then a walk in the middle of nature and the village of 6km to the base camp.

On arrival, you will be installed in your tent which is already prepared by the villagers engaged as the camping Manager. Then, after the short toilet break, lunch of Malagasy dishes from the catering with menus prepared by village women hired as cooks on the site will be served in the catering shed. The afternoon is reserved for Bird Watch around the village near the camp. Then, your evening will be a convivial evening at the Long table of the campsite (Chess games, Backgammon, dominoes and card). The next morning, after breakfast, tour guides will take you on an excursion in the circuit of "Biserasera" passing through the Tsingy Noir called "Ambatomarangitry" and the village of "Ampombofofo" and meeting and hugging the giant Baobab. This will be accompanied by a picnic lunch by the lake "Biserasera" observing varieties of migratory bird species and freshwater birds. For this second day, your evening will be a cultural evening: Cultural evening accompanied by a session of the tales and legend of Bobaomby) and animated by traditional animators by singing (Vako-drazana, Antsa, Goma lahy …) and traditional dance “Trotrobe”. Early in the morning of the 3rd day, after breakfast you will return by local sailing boat to Diego-Suarez.
