“ALA HONKO” THE MANGROVE FOREST

For mangrove enthusiasts, the site has a large mangrove forest that protects the inhabitants of northern Madagascar against the risk of natural disasters. Mangrove sheltering several species of crab, and plays the role of collector of plastic waste coming from the Sea of the ocean which is highly visible during a walk. There is no clearing because this mangrove is very useful for their survival for the daily life of the inhabitants such as women collecting crabs in the mangrove. The visit or research will therefore be very enriching because the villagers also have knowledge of the usefulness of mangroves for other Biodiversity where they say that bees use the mangrove forest and they collect bee honey from mangrove which they find very velvety.

On arrival, you will be installed in your tent canvas which is already prepared by the villagers engaged as the camping manager. Then, after the short toilet break, lunch of Malagasy dishes from the catering with menus prepared by village women hired as cooks on the site will be served in the catering shed. The afternoon is reserved for Bird Watch in the afternoon around the village near the camp. Your evening will be a convivial evening at the Long table of the campsite (Games of Chess, Backgammon, dominoes and card or/and Cultural evening accompanied by a session of the tales and legend of Bobaomby) and animated by the traditional animator by singing ( Vako-drazana , Antsa, Goma lahy …) and Trotrobe dance. The next morning after breakfast, tour guides will take you on an excursion in the circuit to the Mangrove circuit ending on the sacred beach of Ratabirano which is a sumptuous beach with the possibility of swimming. Picnic snack on the beach observing sea turtles playing not far from the shores and admiring the Baobab trees populating along the coastal ecosystem very close to the beach. You will return in the afternoon to Diego-Suarez after lunch in the camp.
